I am a USCG Licensed Captain, who specializes in shallow water sight fishing focusing on fly fishing and ultra light tackle spin fishing.
I caught my first striped bass and false albacore on the fly rod before I could drive a car. That was 30 years ago…
I spent the last 30 years fishing my days away from NY to Cape Cod...Come join me for a day sight fishing the flats and other inshore shallow water bites.
We will fish out of my custom built 18’ skiff that draws only 4” of water, allowing us the fish places other boats just can’t.
I also fish out of an 18’ Mitzi skiff. This small skiff has a little V hull and handles chop and windy days a little better. It’s great for fishing Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay.
Fly Rod and Light Tackle Spin fishing.
Nothing is more fun then fishing out of a small skiff. You are close to the waters edge, making fly casting easier, quicker, and more connected to the water around you. My skiff drafts 4” of water, I’ll take you places hardly anyone else can go and you’ll spot fish like it is an aquarium….
Depending on the time of year, tides, wind, and weather we will fish the following areas:
Vineyard Sound, Buzzards Bay, Barnstable Harbor, Brewster Flats, Martha’s VIneyard, Elizabeth Islands.
I specialize in Fly Fishing and Fly Casting. I’ll take the time to help you cast farther with less effort.
While I love fly fishing, I also offer light tackle spinning rod trips! Ain’t nothing wrong with fishing a spinning rod!
Night Trips also available.
Little skiff, big ocean…

If you have a favorite rod/ reel feel free to bring it. However I will provide all the appropriate rods / reels/ flies / lures for where we are fishing. For fly rods we will be fishing 9 & 10 WT rods. Leave your 8WT and lighter rods home. Strong fish and stronger currents demand heavier rods than that.
-
Bring your own lunch/ snacks/ drinks. Lunch can be provided for a small fee, just contact me before hand with your preference so I can make the appropriate accommodations. 9 times out of 10 we will be fishing far enough away from the dock that we will not be returning to the dock for lunch!

I know that getting to the dock on Cape Cod at 5 am isn’t that easy. If you need a place to stay the night before our trip, or want to fish multiple days in a row with me, contact me before our trip. My wife and I have an extra guest bedroom with a queen size bed, and extra full bathroom. You can stay with us for a small fee. Must love dogs though, we have a 30lb whippet mix who loves everyone!
You’ll never forget your first flyrod false albacore!
